P&C TESTING & COMMISSIONING SERVICES

BIC Electric offers comprehensive P&C Testing and Commissioning services to ensure that substation protection and control systems are fully operational and meet industry standards. Our team of experts is highly skilled in testing and commissioning substation protection and control equipment, including relays, transformers, switchgear, breakers, and more. We use advanced testing equipment and software to perform primary and secondary injection testing, relay calibration, and functional testing to ensure that substation protection and control systems are operating as intended.

P&C Testing and Commissioning Services

At BIC Electric, we are committed to providing our clients with reliable and high-quality P&C Testing and Commissioning services. Our goal is to ensure that substation protection and control systems are fully operational and meet industry standards, delivering safe and reliable power to our customers. 

 

Our P&C testing and commissioning services cover all the following activities related to greenfield and brownfield substation construction projects.

WHAT WE DO:

  • Review customer engineering and design package released for the project to verify that all the equipment delivered to the construction site as part of the investment, was designed and built as per customer’s engineering and operating standards.

  • Perform Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT)

  • Perform Customer Acceptance Testing (CAT)

  • Perform station functional and operational checks prior to energization.

  • Complete and submit to the customer all paperwork produced during testing and commissioning at the construction site.

  • Prepare and submit to the customer as-builts produced at the construction site.

  • Provide support during the interconnection and energization of the project.

  • Project closure (technical, financial)

  • Perform Field Apparatus Testing:

    • Power Transformers (Distribution Transformers, Autotransformers)

    • Circuit Breakers

    • Motor Operated Switches

    • Capacitor Banks

    • Wave Traps

    • Instrument Transformers (CT, PT, CVT)

    • AC/DC Auxiliary Services (Station Services)

    • Battery System (installation, testing, and commissioning)

    • Ground Grid System

    • Other station equipment​

  • Implement and test relay settings (review settings and prepare relay test plans) for all type of protective devices and technologies (SEL, ABB, GE, SIEMENS, others):

    • ​Electromechanical

    • Solid-State

    • Electronic

    • Digital

  • Install, configure, test, and commission Substation Automation Systems (SAS):​

    • RTUs

    • HMIs

    • Relay and Substation

    • Data/Communication  Processors using multiple manufacturers technologies (NovaTech, SEL, EFACEC, ARTECHE, others) and multiple communication protocols (TCP/IP, IEC 103, IEC 104, Modbus, DNP3, IEC 61850, others)

  • ​Install, configure, test and commission communications aided protection schemes, performing end to end testing over the following mediums:

    • ​Carrier (Power Line Wave Traps)

    • Optical Fiber (OPGW = Optical Ground Wire)

P&C Staff Augmentation Services

BIC Electric offers P&C Staff Augmentation services to provide our clients with additional support and resources for their substation protection and control projects. Our team of highly skilled and experienced engineers, technicians, and project managers are available to work on-site or remotely to support our clients' needs.

 P&C Staff Augmentation services are tailored to meet the unique needs of each project and client. We can provide additional resources to support specific phases of a project, including design, testing, and commissioning. Our team can also provide long-term support for ongoing maintenance and upgrades to substation protection and control systems.

WHAT WE DO:

  • CAPEX Staff Augmentation, under these services, BIC provides field engineers with proper and extensive experience for directing, coordinating, and overseeing, on behalf of the customer, major P&C construction projects on Generation, Transmission, and Distribution substations. Our P&C construction leads ensure that capital projects are implemented and commissioned in the field as per customers latest P&C standards and operating procedures.
